Emmagene “Emmie” Sherman, 95, of Hilo died May 19 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired owner for Bates Display and Packaging and a Catholic. Survived by daughter, Dianne Poirier of Arizona; son, Robert (Chin) Sherman of Hilo; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Morgan “Max” Maximillion Kahoaokekai Victor, 30, of Portland, Ore., formerly of Kailua-Kona, died May 4 in Portland.
